User Group of the Carolinas?

User Group of the Carolinas is an annual conference sponsored by R. E. Mason Company of the Carolinas and held at its offices in Charlotte, NC. The conference is an outgrowth of the ProVOX User's Group (later the Fisher-Rosemount User's Group and now Emerson Exchange) for ProVOX customers in North and South Carolina. The first conference session was held in the late 1980's.

Originally it was a one day session with speakers from Fisher Controls and the Robert E. Mason Company. The first several sessions attracted 15-25 people. After Emerson purchased Fisher Controls International, Inc. from Monsanto and R. E. Mason Company began selling and servicing the Rosemount RS3 System, the conference added an extra half day and RS3 sessions were added to the agenda. A few years later the DeltaV System was introduced and the conference was again lengthened to its current half day session, full day session, half day session with a fun activity to finish up. The conference is scheduled to be about six months from the Emerson Exchange.

As the conference has grown the popular Technology Showcase was added by inviting complementary suppliers to a product show in the afternoon/early evenings of the first and second day. Three years ago a new tract was added to include the Asset Optimization Division products and services.

User Group of the Carolinas Conference 2008 was a very successful conference with more that one hundred seventy (170) participants registering and one hundred eighteen (118) participating. More than fifteen different companies displayed their products in the Technology Showcase.

Planning for future conferences has already started and a "Save the Date" notice will be released soon.
